Mishaps, Conversations, and Moving On

This past week was a roller coaster for me. I ended up not taking the internship I had previously mentioned due to more requirements of the job that I did not know about. However, I did have a great conversation with our family friend Joe. I am going to be working a website to help draw more customers to his business, Joe’s Garage, we had a very successful conversation around his expectations for the site. He is completely new to the website side of marketing, so I suggested sending me some pictures and also gathering reviews from people he has already helped. He is an auto-mechanic who has been fixing cars for a decade. I told him including reviews on the site from returning customers would be huge for his marketing. We also talked about timeline and budget. Both, he and I are equally excited to get this website up and running. The next steps are getting that agreement form filled out.

I am also reaching out to Toby; the other small business owner I am building a website for to better gage his expectations for his website. There is a potential third business owner I might reach out to for more experience. I am looking to see how many hours I will be putting into these two sites first. I look forward to another productive week.

  1. What platform do you plan on using? Does he already have a Google Business Profile or Yelp where you can pull those reviews from?

An idea could be something like setting up a gallery page for his ‘before and after’ repairs. This could especially work well if he does any kind of paint or bodywork!
